Originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Sanford started with Afro-Cuban classes at age seven. After entering the United States, he has trained with and attended summer intensives on full scholarships with the French Academie of Ballet , Manhattan Youth Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Austin, Ballet Etudes of south Florida and Dance Theatre of Harlem. He has also trained with renown teachers and choreographers like Nadege Hottier, Francois Perron, Dagmar Moradillos, Susana Prieto , Kevin Thomas and Marina Stravitskaya. Sanford’s favorite roles are Peasant pas de duex from Giselle, Puss-in-Boots, Paquita pas de deux, Nutcracker pas de deux and Russian, Balanchine's Who Cares and Don Quixote.
