RESIDENCIES

A teaching artist from North Carolina Dance Theatre will visit your school for one day, one week or several weeks, and work in partnership with classroom teachers to plan dynamic, arts integrated lessons! Classic and contemporary ballets serve as a catalyst, inspiring student learning through NC Dance Theatre’s repertoire. Dance experience is not required!

Elementary School Residencies: Stories in Motion
Ballets inspire learning through creative movement, enhancing Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.

Middle and High School Residencies: Capturing Creativity
Lesson units inspired by NC Dance Theatre’s professional choreographers and repertoire serve as the catalyst for student learning through dance.

North Carolina Dance Theatre residency lessons align with relevant North Carolina Standard Course of Study goals and National Content Standards in Dance.
