Behind-the-Scenes Tours
Come visit NC Dance Theatre’s studios!
- View a company rehearsal
- See the magical costumes in the costume shop
- Meet a professional dancer or two
Tours are designed for small groups (up to 30) of those studying dance or those just interested in what happens before the curtain goes up!
Community Performances
Dance students in the NC Dance Theatre School of Dance perform classic and contemporary dance works during specific times of the year. Teen dancers in training, who are in Dance Theatre’s Repertory Ensemble, bring a specially designed, costumed mini-performance to your venue and take questions following the performance.
North Carolina Dance Theatre Docent Program (new this season!)
The word docent is derived from the Latin word docēre, meaning “to teach.”
Ballet docents are trained volunteers who help educate the community-at-large about ballet through educational outreach programs.
North Carolina Dance Theatre docents will receive comprehensive training through Dance Theatre’s education and outreach department in order to further the public’s understanding of NC Dance Theatre, classic and contemporary ballet and NC Dance Theatre’s repertory.
