Lucas started dancing at age 3. He studied ballet, jazz, and hip-hop at Healdsburg Ballet under the tutelage of Teresa Lubarsky. At age 15, Lucas left home to pursue more rigorous training at The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, studying under the direction of Bojan and Stephanie Spassoff. Lucas graduated high school from the Rock Academics program in 2013. He has performed many roles including Waltz Boy in Balanchine's Serenade and 1st Movement Principal in Balanchine's Western Symphony. Lucas was a finalist at Youth America Grand Prix in 2012 and 2013.
