Advice for aspiring dancers: “Do not be discouraged by constructive criticism or corrections. Rather, take and absorb them. Valuable insight is a remarkable tool and a necessity for improvement. Dig deep and be passionate!”  

Kate Ann is originally from St. Paul, MN. She began her dance training in Minneapolis at the Minnesota Dance Theatre, under the direction of Lise Houlton. Kate has spent summers at Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle and The Julliard School in Manhattan, through scholarship. She holds a BFA and a minor in anthropology from New York University’s Tisch School of Performing Arts through the Tisch Merit Scholarship. Kate has studied with Lise Houlton, Marjorie Thompson, Susan Jaffe, Cherylyn Lavagnino, and Jim Sutton and performed works by George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Cherylyn Lavagnino, Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Dwight Rhoden, Sasha Janes, Mark Diamond and Robert Battle. Kate was a member of NC Dance Theatre 2 last year.
