Sherrard & Pete
Background: A big fan of style and fashion, Sherrard enjoys helping women find confidence in their appearance as a wardrobe consultant for Paul Simon Women. She finds her spark from her husband, Johnny, and two daughters, Amelia (14) and Lucy (12). Sherrard grew up in Irmo, SC and is a graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg.
Interests/Hobbies: Sherrard was honored to be Southpark Magazine’s “Volunteer of the Year” in 2012 and is an active board member of Good Friends Charlotte, which offers hope and a helping hand to so many. She is one of the founders of the Duke Mansion Preservation Society and serves on the Celebrate team at Myers Park Presbyterian Church. Sherrard and her husband Johnny are co-founders of the DreamCatcher Society for Levine Children’s Hospital.Charity/Non-profit supporting in addition to NC Dance Theatre: Good Friends Charlotte. Sherrard dances in memory of her daddy.
Pete Leo Walker
Hometown: Jacksonville, FL
From Jacksonville, FL, Pete began his training at Dansations Performing Arts Center and Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. Pete was accepted into Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts on full scholarship. While at Nutmeg Conservatory he performed with MOMIX for Pope Benedict XVI. He also performed DonQuixote pas de deux and Sleeping Beauty pas de deux, both staged by Kirk Peterson, and Diane and Actéon pas de deux, staged by Eleanor D’Antuono. In 2010, Pete joined North Carolina Dance Theatre 2 and was quickly promoted to the first company. His first season with NC Dance Theatre included dancing in George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes pas de deux, Jiri Bubenicek’s Le Souffle de l’Esprit, Sasha Janes’ LastLost Chance, Dwight Rhoden’s Reflections Of... and Twyla Tharp’s The Golden Section. Pete is a 2011 recipient of the Princess Grace Award, and in 2012 was named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch.” In the summer of 2013, he danced as Romeo in The Chautauqua Institute’s The Romeo & Juliet Project.
