DRESS CODE

Students of any age should always wear street clothing over their dance attire when coming to and from their classes. Ballet slippers must never be worn outdoors as this tracks dirt into the studio and is detrimental to the marley floors, as well as dangerous for the students. All dress code requirements are mandatory in every level of the school.

In the proud tradition of classical ballet and out of respect for the art form, we strive to have a clean, uniformed look for our students in all of our dance classes. Please help us achieve this goal by purchasing leotards, tights and ballet shoes that match our dress code requirements and by fixing your child’s hair for class in the appropriate manner as listed.

Early Dance Division (ages 3-6)

Girls Dress Code

Girls hair: Pulled away from the face and neatly secured in a bun, ponytail or headband; Beginning Ballet students are required to wear a bun to class. Short hair must be slicked back and secured in a small ponytail or headband.

Boys Dress Code

Children’s Division (ages 7-10)

Girls Ballet Class Attire

Girls hair: Slicked back into a tightly secured bun with no loose ends. Short hair must be slicked back and held in place with a headband or tiny ponytail. Bangs must be pinned back. No hair ornamentation.

Boys Ballet Class Attire

Modern Class Attire
Solid colored leotard, footless black tights, bare feet. Boys same as above, without shoes or socks, bare feet.

Jazz Class Attire
Solid colored leotard, black jazz pants, black jazz shoes. Boys shirt same as ballet class attire.

Girls Ballet Class Attire

Boys Ballet Class Attire

Jazz Class Attire
Solid colored leotard, black jazz pants, black jazz shoes. Boys shirt same as ballet class attire.

Intermediate & Advanced Division (ages 11-18)

Girls Ballet Class Attire

Girls hair: Slicked back into a tightly secured bun with no loose ends. Short hair must be slicked back and held in place with a headband or tiny ponytail. No bangs or hair ornamentation.

Boys Ballet Class Attire

Pre-Professional Division (ages 14-18)

Adult Division:

There is no official dress code for Teen/Adult classes. We encourage you to wear comfortable clothes that allow freedom of movement. If you are just trying out a class, feel free to come barefoot.
