Children's Dance Camps
Age 3-6

Children’s Dance Camps are appropriate for both boys and girls. Each camp runs for one week, Monday through Friday. Camps take place at either our main campus, the Patricia McBride & Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance, or Charlotte Country Day School. DANCE CAMP A: CINDERELLA AND THE PRINCE
Location: Center for Dance
Ages 3-4      
June 20-24    
Monday- Friday        9 AM - NOON

Join us as we learn about Cinderella, her charming Prince, the ugly stepsisters and the magical fairy godmother. Set to the beautiful music of Prokofiev, campers experience this fairy tale through movement, dramatic play, dress-up and crafts. Campers will also read the story of Cinderella and watch a professional performance video of the NCDT Company. As a special treat, a NCDT dancer visits the camp as Cinderella to perform and autograph Cinderella posters. The week’s activities culminate in a grand finale performance as the Cinderella campers are re-united with their Prince Charming. 

DANCE CAMP B: THE LITTLE MERMAID
Location: Center for Dance
Ages 5-6      
August 1-5
Monday- Friday        9 AM - NOON

Come join us under the sea as we follow the Little Mermaid on her many adventures on land and in the sea. Campers experience this fairy tale through movement, music, dramatic play, dress-up and crafts. Campers will also read the story of the Little Mermaid and watch a professional performance video of the NCDT Company. As a special treat, a NC Dance Theatre dancer visits the camp as the Little Mermaid to perform and autograph Little Mermaid posters. The camp culminates in a grand finale dance performance of this wonderful children’s tale. 

DANCE CAMP C: THE NUTCRACKER SUITE
Location: Charlotte Country Day School
Ages 3-4      
July 11-15
Monday- Friday        9 AM - NOON

Join us as we follow Clara and her Nutcracker Prince as they journey through the Land of the Sweets, in one of the most famous and beloved ballets of all time.  Set to the beautiful music of Tchaikovsky, campers experience this fairy tale through movement, dramatic play, dress-up and crafts. Campers will also read the story of the Nutcracker and watch a professional performance video of the NCDT Company. As a special treat, a NCDT dancer visits the camp as the Sugar Plum Fairy to perform a solo variation and autograph Nutcracker posters. The camp culminates in a grand finale performance as the Claras dance with their Nutcracker Prince..
